About Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy combines surgical training and practice with the emotional lives of the people working at the hospital. Patients bring urgent medical decisions; colleagues, mentors and partners add tensions that do not disappear when an operation ends. Grey Sloan Memorial is both a workplace and a community, so changes among its doctors matter alongside the clinical situation in an individual episode.

For a new viewer, our recommendation is to begin with the first season rather than choose a recent season solely because of its cast. The characters' professional and personal journeys are part of the experience. Medical knowledge is not an entry requirement, but it helps to remember that this is fictional drama: its situations are neither clinical guidance nor a complete account of real hospital work.

For a series this extensive, season-sized goals are more manageable than treating the whole catalogue as a single task. Record the last completed episode and avoid descriptions of later instalments: even a cast listing can reveal changes. Medical cases provide episode-level reference points, but relationships and workplace conflicts continue. Treating every instalment as entirely separate can lose that context.
